This is from the state of Illoinois. But, I know when someone files for Bankrupty its public knowledge. This site tells you the steps how you know what to look for. But, if they went to court or threw someone else to do it. Go to your local court system and look it up. Good luck.

Call the person/debtor and ask them...or ask one of their creditors if they know if the person filed for bankruptcy. Try to get a case number and then verify it online through the district that they filed in.
