the best advice i can give it to prevent them. Exfoliate the area before and after getting waxed. It helps cut down on ingrown hairs. You want to keep that up as the hair grows in so that it doesn't get blocked. If you have an ingrown hair, use tweezers to pull it out, but be careful, because you don't want to dig deep and irritate the area more. Also keep the area clean and moisturized so that dirt and dry skin can't start to clog up the hair follicle.

Regardless of the are waxed the following should help
Before waxing scrub the area w a facial scrub or a sugar or salt scrub. This preps your skin
After waxing, rescrub the area this time use a salt free scrub because if your skin is broken even a little bit the salt will hurt. This will take off execess wax as well as open up any blocked folicals.
Also use a ingrown hair treatment product like Skin Tight (my fav) or Skin Tend (another good one) this will prevent any ingrown hairs from forming.

I've tried to let them go down on their own then squeeze them with tweezers later. That sounds gross, but it gets the hair that's ingrown out as well as most pus, whether dried or "fresh"... it's the only thing I've found to work for me, but it hurts a bit (so does the ingrown hair... caused by something similar to waxing)... good luck!

I exfoliate everytime I have a shower... I found the best way is with those gloves (you can get them in the beauty section)... just put a bit of soap or cleanser and gently scrub the area... i rarely get ingrown hairs coz i do this everyday... plus it makes u'r skin feel so soft and smooth
