O.K. I know that a question is not necessarily an answer to a question, but, this time I can't help it: what the heck does your boyfriend liking your dogs have to do with drawing and illustration???
If by dogs, you mean your FEET, how about painting each toenail a different design, using his favorite colors.

Have him walk the dog so that they can bond also pay attention to him when your dog is around, I have a Boxer and my bf didnt like her at first then he started walking her and they started to get along.. Good Luck =-)
