I heard this said in a song, and it got me thinking.......really, what is a friend?.......do we have them to say we have friends, do you have them for your own selfish reasons......what do you think....

We all need friends, whether a couple or a bunch, we're all social creatures and life's much better with friends in our lives. Friends aren't perfect, they're human, and friendships aren't perfect. I think a friend is someone that I can talk to, who can help me out of a jam or in an emergency, someone that I can trust. Yeah I suppose I have friendships for selfish reasons, I hate being alone for a long period, and I like having friends, but its not like I manipulate mine. You gotta keep in mind that there are a lot of loners out there, so not everyone tries to have friends.
The thing that sucks is that sometimes you get hurt, that's the risk in any relationship that you take a chance on. But I'd rather try than not have any friends at all. After all, no man is an island.

Friends are different people that share one heart i know it sounds all sad n soppy lol because it is really but i would be long gone if it werent for my friends. A friend is there to pick you up when you fall and carry you out of danger and i spose in a way it is for ourselves we have friends and i guess it can be selfish but to have friends we must be friends so we do what they do for us and possibly more. So long as a person is always there for you when you need them and you stick together through highs and lows that person is a friend.

You have them to be there for you when you get dumped, to keep you busy, to bug the s h i t out of you sometimes, some friends come but most of them go . It's very hard to find a good friend that is with you through everything thick and thin. Some you have just to say your friends with them, but those kind usually don't last.

A friend is some one who sticks with you through life. A friend is some one whose there for you. I consider myself to be blessed with many wonderful friends Friends are difficult to define really...but really, friends are the people you "love" but don't LOVE, if that makes sense...

I heard a friend is somebody who will bail you out of jail in Tijuana.
A really good friend is in the cell with you and needs to be bailed out too. He can be heard in the background saying..."Damn that was FUNNNNNNNN!" while you are calling your friend in the states for bail money!

someone who will stick by you thru good and bad, who wont slag u off behind your back, who is honest and trustworthy, who cares and loves you, supports you, that u can talk about anything with, share your life and in return they will share theirs with you
