a=b+x
-x=b-a
x=a-b

b=a-x
b+x=a
x+b=a

Just assign each variable a number. For instance a=10, x=9 and b=1...as long as it correlates with your inital equation. Of course there are more than only three options.

1=10-9
1+9=10
9+1=10

1. a = b + x
2. x = a - b
3. x - a + b = 0
