Why not search through wifi FREE spot areas near you?

Info regarding free hotspots:
"A Wi-Fi-FreeSpot™ is a location that offers Free Wi-Fi high speed wireless internet access to their customers and guests and/or the general public."

The idea of FREE HOTSPOT is not bad at all, otherwise these hotspot operators will JUST put wep keys and you can't connect to Internet without giving you the keys.

I myself like going to McDonalds where they offer free Internet access... you too, may check some McDonalds. How to grab? When you're inside to these hotspots just plug your USB WIFI and when something popup on your system tray, it will list there all available good signals, then just click to connect. Enjoy surfing while eating!

OK, here are some answers:
First, you can't connect to someboy else's cable connection (DOCSIS), beccause of the protection the cable providers use - usually a pair of the cable modem's MAC address and the MAC address of the network adapter connected to the cable modem.
For ADSL, you usually need a username and password.
For WiFi, you can try to connect to open-APs, which aren't protected with WEP/WPA and do not use MAC filtering. A good application for scanning for wireless networks would be NETSTUMBLER: http://www.netstumbler.com/

If you feel that strongly about it then, subscribe to Yahoo DSL $13 / mo. and purchase a wireless router for about $50.00 and set it up so everyone in the neighborhood can use it.
