When I was sixteen, and a young police cadet, we had a visit from none other than Prince Charles. I had the prestigious job of opening a door for him. I was all set, best uniform, highly polished (bulled) boots etc. When I heard the entourage approaching - I glanced from the corner of my eye and saw the future King of England, both knees bent, trailing one arm over his head, one on the floor and whooping like a baboon. It was then that I realised no one is more special than anyone else. We all breathe the same air, live and die.
He did stop to chat but the image remained - "Monkey King"

People experience this only because they do not realize that those who are famous have times when they do not feel like being bothered. You might be meeting them for the first time, but before you had that opportunity, they could have signed over 400 autographs and now they are exhausted.

I went to the One Tree Hill tour 2 years ago (aboout that) and I was one of the first 50, or 100, people to buy something. So my friends and I got wristbands to meet Tyler Hilton and Bethany Joy Lenz (from the show). We were SOO excited. We, unfortuantely, were near the very end of the line (NO idea how that happened). By the time we got up there, they were barely paying attention to us, and they didn't even smile! I was so upset... They asked for my name, and that was about it. I asked for a picture, and she was like sure (somewhat pleasantly). But then (she was waiting for Tyler to finish signing something), it's like she forgot and she started talking to other people next in line and signing. So I though to myself...ugh...whatever, so I just flashed a picture right in front of their faces anyway. I'm sure they were tired, but it's like...I paid for it. They need to be careful how they treat their fans, especially when they signed on to do it. It's not like I asked for an autograph when they were in the bathroom or something...
Kind of tainted my view of them...

I met Snoop when he came to South Africa on tour. We were in the VIP lounge when the security guards told us to leave because a performer was on his way in. As we were leaving Snoop entered & told us we could stay & have a drink with him. Actually he is quite a nice guy so I cant say I was let down.

I worked at a hotel in Marina Del Rey, CA. A lot of basketball players stayed there. One time Larry Byrd was staying there. He was sitting in the hotel bar when a kid approached him with a basketball to sign. He called security on the kid.
It wasn't my personal encounter with him, but all I could think was, "WHAT A COMPLETE JERK!"
