Was it self Defense? When the Jihadis shot the Nun?

Recently, a Muslim from Turkey, told me that I dont understand Jihad. That the idea of Jihad is only used in self defense. OK, without any facts I can buy that. So were the Islamic "freedom fighters" defending themselves from an unarmed, elderly, overweight Catholic Nun? Im just trying to understand jihad, because I clearly don't know how it works. I guess it was a pretty violent unarmed elderly nun...

The Muslim from Turkey that you spoke to was a dumb ***. He doesn't know what Jihad is and what it represents. When Mohammad dictated the Koran (he couldn't write) he made it clear that all non-Muslims were to be converted to the Islamic faith one way or another. The Jihad is a holy war in order to achieve that goal. If a Jihadist is killed attempting to achieve this goal then he goes directly to heaven where 72 virgins with clear eyes and very beautiful faces and ample bosoms are waiting for him. What a temptation! Mohammad was one of the world's great bullshit artists because much of what he wrote in many other portions of the Koran come from the Jewish Talmud. Even the way Muslims pray was a device used by earlier Jews several thousands of years ago. This in turn was taken from the early Persians. Mohammad borrowed much from Christianity and the Jewish Talmud in his creation of the Koran. To convert infidels to the Islamic faith is a requirement of being a Muslim. I can go on and on but I am sure you do not wish to read a history of the Muslims.

Simple...,If you lack experience or are just beginning a shotgun is best without question. You don't have to be proficient, or a skilled marksman, you just point and pull the trigger. I would recommend a Pump action shotgun like a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870 Express in 12 gauge. Easy to operate, holds plenty of back up shells to get the job done. Anyone with any real experience will tell you that a handgun is only effective if you have the ability to use it under duress and High stress situations and circumstances,NOT as in waking up to glass breaking from a dead sleep, and still managing to get off a few "accurate" shots. (Highly unlikely)As a retired LEO/Detective and a current Combat Pistol Instructor, I would still recommend a shotgun over a handgun any day any time.....As far as the noise that results when you chamber a round in a pump shotgun..YES..very impressive but at the same time that noise doesn't stop or kill anything. Handguns can wait until later when you've have had a chance to practice and shoot a shotgun first. A decent Shotgun like I described will coast between $250-$350 new. You might be able to find one on sale or a great shotgun in used condition for even less money. I would suggest #4 shot size or #00 Buckshot (9-32 caliber pellets per shell) for home defense......

This is the first time I've heard anyone claim that Jihad was only for self defense. I always thought the whole point of it was aggression. If you ever see this guy again make him explain to you, with references, just how Jihad is supposed to be for self defense.
You never know, maybe this nun spanked this freedom fighter when he was a kid. Would that be enough to make an elderly, Italian nun be considered violent.

Jihad is "a war against injustice."

I guess that "war" includes strapping on a bomb full of lethal shrapnel and detonating it in a crowded mall, a religious ceremony or a wedding - pretty much anywhere there are lots of innocent men, women and children.

This "war" must also include cutting your head off for merely questioning their beliefs. And rioting in the streets over a cartoon. And, of course, there's the old standby of death threats to all infidels.

Killing a nun because the Pope offended them in his speach shouldn't really surprise anyone, should it?

Just what the hell do these dirt bags have to do to get some people's attention????

Their concept of 'self defense' is against anyone not submitting to Islamic Rule. They must defend themselves if one 'offends' Islam or refuses to be dominated by Islam.

So, by their twisted reasoning, killing a Nun could very well be self defense.

What do you think about the Reagen administration's support of Rightist groups that killed Catholic Nuns and Priests in El Salvador during the 1980s? How come the Right wing in the US never condemns these actions?

If you are trying to imply that they are all the same then you are wrong. Timothy McVeigh blew up a building in Oklahoma City and that doesn't mean all red heads are violent, terrorist or anything like that. Not all white people are members of the KKK. Same with Muslims not all are what they made you believe.

Now...considering ur comment above...I don't think u know **** about Islam and I have no doubt that Jihad was supposed to be used against muslims who are misrepresenting and misguiding their muslim brothers and creating bad name for Islam. So as far as the turkish dude is concerned...if he doesn't understand the meaning of Jihad...then its ok....people do get confused....but...a muslim who thinks that he knows a lot about Islam and misinterprets the word Jihad is doing a mortal SIN....because he is misquoting the prophet himself for his own selfish evil ways.

this is a wrong concept about jihad as is being propagated wrongly by the media just because of the ignorance of some fanatic muslim groups which are disliked by muslims as well....jihad has been allowed only in exceptional cases for example occupation of your land by some one....the 1st and foremost jihad is against illiteracy, poverty, tyrants etc.....just because some fools portray the wrong picture does not mean islam is violent.....read the quran and u will know......believe it or not despite being a muslim i agree bernard shaw when he said that islam is the best religion and muslims the worst followers.
