The Pope quoted an old text, he made it clear that these were not his words. I have not heard the full speech that he made and until i hear it word for word feel that it is improper to judge him on a few words that have been carried by the press across the globe.

Evil prevails not in any religion..it prevails only in the polluted minds of presits, popes, imams. If all the people follow there religion in real.. there will be a happy and prosperous world. For example: islam banned interest but all the muslims are paying interest and accepting interest.

The pope didn't say their was evil in the muslim religion... it was a medievil quote... not his actual words...
I don't think there's such a thing as an evil religion... just evil extremists...

You have to get it straight before you try to pigeon hole everyone! ;-)

He was quoting another, not his original thought. That aside, I believe the original statements were, for the most part, true.

The response to the statements on the part of muslims, in particular the shooting of a nun, tend to support the validity of the original statement as well.

I disagree with the quote but I agree within the context it was used.

His overall statement was that the use of religion to justify violence is wrong.
