Hello:

I would appreciate if someone could tell me about appropriate attire for wedding guests(both men & women) at a friends wedding. It is a afternoon wedding in early october in a church in a beach town.

The invitation didn't mention anything about the attire. The groom is wearing a tux.

Thanks

Wear something in copper color. Some nice accesories (if you are a girl). If you are a male go with a suit and tie, at least. If the friend is very close, wearing a tux is a sign that shows your simpathy and respect, that this is a special event for you as well. You could also ask your friend or their brothers or sisters about clothing code.
Usually if the invitations does not mention it, if a better option to be over dress than under dress. Specially is the grom is going formal.
Feel good about the choice you make and show it. If you feel good about how you look.

Depends on family tradition. Ask someone in the family what they're wearing-- someone who's not in the wedding.

The only reason I say this is because my family is kind "flowery dress or dress shirt and khaki" kinda people where my husband's family is like glitzy glam weddings with people in huge poofy sparkly dresses and ties/tuxes and the whole thing. So, ask the relatives.

It doesn't hurt to ask because you don't want to go looking out of place. However, if you don't get a chance to ask,

Girls: go with a solid colored-- red, pink, blue-- classy dress so no matter what you'll fit in. (Just don't wear black, unless you're sure that it's ok.)

Guy: Go with a suit with a nice colored shirt and tie. Maybe light colors since it's near the beach-- pastels. Salmon pinky orange looks really good on most guys.

Afternoon always calls for a cocktail dress, below the knee or mid-calf, in a shimmery or satiny material, keep the design simple but elegant and bring a wrap for the evening. Men should always be well suited, again simple but elegant, with a matching tie to your ensemble.

Always go formally to a wedding unless otherwise specified. For women, dresses or pants and a really nice top. For guys, a suit.

i would call and ask because some on here say tux, but people where I live would dress in suit and tie for men and a Sunday dress for women, women should not wear white or off-white.
