I know ways you can (walking, castor oil, sex), but I want to hear how some of you induced labor and how well it worked.

I know ways to induce labor...I want to know how others induced themselves. I'm not saying I am inducing myself. I just want to hear other people's stories.

My doctor told me to go home and have sex. He said it is the best way to help move labor along!

I am due on thursday and I have been trying everything that is listed here. Fact is the baby isn't going to come out until it's ready. Castor oil is NOT safe don't try it, it will just make you sick.. Sex can help but only because there are hormones in the sperm that soften your cervix. Also the nipple stimulation thing does help bring on contractions but they go away if it's not time... If you have a breast pump try using that to help them come on stronger.. even if it doesn't "throw you into labor" it will help your cervix change..
good luck let me know if anything works for ya..

I went out walking around stores for 4 hours. I went into labor at 4am the following morning. The first thing I said was Oh no, I have things to do today, I am not ready for this! My husband laughed at me. I would have to say that walking worked.

This is what happened to me. With my second pregnancy the doctor noticed at 38 wks that everytime I had a Braxton Hicks contraction the baby's heart rate would drop. Concerned he sent me to the hospital to be monitored for a couple of hours. Well, they filled two diapers with very warm water and had me place them on my breasts. And they also had me stimualate my nipples. This all helped my contractions to become regular so they could check the variations of the babies heart rate. Well, the contractions continued so they decided to go ahead and keep me. It was pretty cool. Also the breast pump is a good start to.

When I went to the hospital to be enduced the told me to have an MOB-Mind Blowing Orgasm...because it's not sex that causes you to go into labor it is the contractions that you uterus has when you orgasm...It work I went back to the hospital and I was 3 centermeters and a few hours later I had my baby.

I was 1 week overdue. Went trick or treating with family and walked myself into labor. It was more of a vigorous walk trying to keep up with kids and for about 2 miles. Needless to say it didn't speed up the delivery, 28 hrs labor, good luck, its worth it.

Well, my daughter actually started the whole thing by giving an almighty kick, and breaking the waters, but...
I wasn't progressing into labour fast enough, and I knew that they would start inducing labour after 12 hours after the water broke.
I didn't do it on purpose, but I suddenly craved canned peaches. I tried to eat one and it turned my stomach, but it tasted good. Instead I drank the syrop that it was canned in, and five minutes later I was in full labour!!!
Worth a try. :) Good luck.

Most people who claim to have naturally induced labor didn't actually do any such thing. They just think they did. Their bodies were ready, the baby was ready -- whatever they did was coincidental.

this might sound weird but if you rub/ twist your nipple around it releases this hormone that induces labor. It normally works 2-3 days after you do it. It took me 2 days to go into labor
