Probably not. Why would she want to tell them anyway? Does she want help quitting or something? I'm sure they will be disappointed at first, but they will be willing to help if they actually care about her. Try to get her to quit..she has no idea what she is in for if she continues to smoke and tries to quit later down the road. Or, even worse..if she doesn't try to quit and she gets some horrible illness. They illness doesn't just have to be cancer either. Smoking causes many mental and physical problems. I know because I was a smoker..and for only 6 years. I still however suffer from a smoking related illness. Tell her to quit!

I am going to be brutally honest here. You might not like what I have to say but tough. I started at 13 years old. I thought I was cool because everyone does it. First off, if her parents don't smoke. They will smell it in her hair, her clothes etc.. can't hide it.
Been there done that. Second, if she respects her parents tell them now. Or pay dearly later, no parent wants to find out for themselves. They might be sad but at least the child gave the parents the propers.

1. 13 year old's shouldn't be smoking.
2. If this person decides to tell their parents, they should expect to get into trouble.
3. I'm a mother and if I found out my 13 year old was smoking by telling me or just by my finding out, I would be very upset and my child would be grounded for life. ;)

I smoked my first cig at 8! under the front porch!
My mom freaked but it was really funny when she did the whole you shouldnt smoke speach (while pointing at me with her cig!) I stoped smoking for a short time in high school when my bf didnt want me to smoke. (then he turned out to be a lying cheating pot head!) so I happily went back to my old habits! I'm now 24 and fighting very hard to quit in order to have a healthy baby!

All in all I think if the girls parents smoke then they should take blame and offer to quit with her but not just force her to quit (that just dont work!) and if they dont smoke then they need to have very stern talks with the parents of the kids shes getting the cigs from!
(most smoking kids belong to smoking parents)

Smoking is an expensive and nasty habbit. I have only just gave up and I'm so glad I did. Get her to say to her parents that it's better than her being on drugs

Ok welll... Smoking is bad as a child. But most kids grow outta that kinda stuff.. I wouldnt tell a teacher because its not really effecting you so there is really no reason to .

honestly......no. first think smoking at 13 is illegal. its against the law. you have to be 18 to smoke legally. her parents are probably going to be really mad and upset. but. they will get over it. the sooner she tells her parents the faster she will get over it. they will get over it in a short amount of time its not that big a deal. but try to encourage her to give it up at least until shes 18 so she cant get arrested for it if she gets caught

I remember when I had my first cigarette... Most parents trust their children more if they just come out and tell the truth. She will not get away with it much longer. Parents have eyes and ears everywhere!

there is no way you can tell your parents without them getting disapointed and angry
are you crazy do you want to die of lung cancer
do you want to not be able to breath for yourself and be on a venterlater eventually
stop now before it gets out of hand
its a nasty and disgusting habbit that nobody should have ever invented

tell her all the consequences of smoking. bad breath, teeth, gums, and hygeine, cancer, smelly clothes, shunning from friends, poor academic performance at school, messed up future, and everything else.she's probably being pressured into smoking and trying to fit in with new friends. tell her why's she's doing it.
