Hey, Hallmark has their ornaments up in July! When I was growing up, there was no Christmas anything until after Thanksgiving. Christmas has become more and more commercialized, to the point of being almost sickening.

Isn't that terrible? I saw on the news the other day that a lot of dept. stores are skipping out on Halloween and Thanksgiving and are putting out Christmas items. I do not go Christmas shopping until after Thanksgiving and I enjoy those other holidays- especially Halloween! commercialism at its finest:(

you must be young they have been doing this for years. the companies use christmas sales to adjust profits for the year so that they can report to stock holders. the earlier you start your spending the better for stock holders. the better question would be why do we spend all this money all year long on people friends and family and then have one big blow out of all our cash at the end of year. what does that have to do with the christian experience. it only has to do with walmart getting more money out of you than you have already spent there all year long. it has nothing to do with jesus and the three wise men bearing gifts unless the gifts said made in china.

I think that they think we need to be reminded that christmas is coming back around again. That way we have time to spend all our money on christmas starting now.
