Paper was considered in plenty supply when they found out how to make it, so I don't think it got a god, unless you have a god for plants and trees. And plastic didn't come out until the 1960's. So I guess the god for that is the people who make Tupperware. Or the man who thought to make plastic.

Let me coorect your concept of Viswakarma. He is not the god of iron, rather he is the god of mechanics, constructions, etc. etc. In the eastern India Viswakarma Puja is celebrated on 17th Sept in every places where some kind of tool is used, be it a car garrage or a printing press. The criteria is use of tools. Othe gods planned the way to create the world and it was Viswakarma who put thier plans into action.

Well if you see it theoritically when the concept of gods and goddesses had started plastic and paper had not been invented so we can say that humans are the gods and goddesses of paper and plastics

vishwakarma is good for architecture and construction not for iron. he was said to be built the beautiful lanka for ravanasura and mayasabha for pandavas.
