Just click on "Check Spelling", and it is very easy to follow the prompts. Don't you find that a question or answer with poor spelling and grammar is taken less seriously? Most of us make typing errors, but this feature is SO easy to use! Just for kicks and grins, I am curious if others have the same thoughts!

Most don't know about it or are too lazy to use it! Not making an effort to use this feature demonstrates the level of intelligence of most users on Yahoo Answers!
Of course, there are users for whom English is not their native language therefore they may be uncertain of which choice to pick for the correct spelling offered in the list that displays when the Spell checker detects what it thinks is a misspelled word.
There are also those who think it is fun to misspell. I have a wonderful time grading papers from folks like that. Spelling represents 50% of the grade I assign to every paper I grade!
Spelling is also a vital written communication skill in the business world. It is an important measure of ones abilities to communicate ideas and information as well as their intelligence. It is sometimes used to determine a portion of a person's job performance thus whether they receive a raise and if so how much.

I know how to use the check spelling which is directly above the box I am typing in. I also have spell check on my task bar at the top of my screen. I have been unable to answer some questions on here, as I am unable to translate what the person is trying to say. I have even found myself highlighting the incorrect words in caps when I answer back. A lot of it is just laziness, as are a lot of the problems in the world. Have a good night.

I find that most people are too lazy to type properly. In fact I was just wondering the same thing myself this morning - can people not type, not spell or do they not notice the spell check function?
It also annoys me when I see a sentence full of abbreviated words.

Personally I like spell check and I use it. There maybe a few times I missed doing it but I am on top of it for sure.

i use it all the time. Its amazing what you think you see and what it brings to your attention
For the girl who thinks it doesn't check grammar, if your in word and have it set properly, yes it does.

ummm y does it bug u so much that people have spelling errors? As long as u can understand what they r trying to convey, whats the prob?

spell check is just a waste of time. =) also, it doesn't correct grammar errors, & that's what i need to improve the most!!
