I normally get my period every 28 days and lasts 5 days. It has been like this for years. But last month it came at 31 days and only lasted 2 days went away for a day and came back for 1 more day and was very light. This month it came at 27 days and was VERY heavy and has now lasted 8 days. Should I be worried? I don't know if I should consider this abnormal? I have no insurance so I can't just go to the doctor.

If you're perimenopausal that is normal. Call Planned Parenthood and talk with them, they have low cost options.

I would go to a doctor. Sometimes, believe it or not, you might find one with a big heart who won't overcharge you. When I had no insurance and had a "female" emergency, the doctor I ended up seeing found out I didn't have insurance and didn't charge me for the visit. To this day I'm shocked, but it just goes to show you that there are good people out there who are willing to help. Even if yours is not so generous and you end up having to pay for it little by little over the next year, your peace of mind is worth it.

Sounds to me like you should really go to the doctor whether you have insurance or not. Just ask what you can do without having any medicine or tests. That way you will only get charge for the visit and nothing else.

For some people, it would be perfectly normal, but you know your body better than anyone else. If this is abnormal for you, then you should definitely see a doctor.

it is probably not anything bad, but if you are really concerned then you should to see a doctor. if you can't afford it, then go to your local health department. if they can't find the problem or perform the appropriate tests, they might be able to tell you of a doctor that will charge you based on your income or that will let you make payments.
