I'd started a supply teaching job and I was taken to assembly, standing at the front with the rest of the staff facing the kids. The headmaster in the assembly reminded me of the one in the film "Clockwise" and I think they sang the same hymn. Although I did succeed in not bursting out in laughter some of the kids obviously realised that I was trying hard not to laugh.
Another was at a job interview. The desert for lunch was rice pudding. I know a great joke about rice pudding and the thought of telling this in this situation made me want to burst out laughing. Although I controlled myself, when I went to collect the desert, one of the kitchen staff realised that I was trying hard to stop. I didn't get the job.

Many times, but the worse was at my conformation, which was when I was 30 yrs old, the vicar said to all six of us, what ever you do if you loose your balance when you get up after kneeling in front of the Bishop, don't pull at his robe, as he'll be stood there in his stockings and suspenders. Well you can imagine we could not look at each other though out the service, and for some strange reason shoulders were shaking. I managed to bite through my lip. Afterwards when the clergy had left we all rolled around laughing at the thought of the 6ft 60+ old bishop in that attire. Thanks vicar, your sense of humour nearly got us all in to trouble lol

My whole life, im a terrible giggler, if my sister is there its mutiplied 100%. And in really dire situations it becomes an hysterical kind of giggle that borders on hysteria.
I once took my little nephew to his preschool to meet the teacher before he started, she had a wooden leg, as we sat down he accidently kicked it and it made this real hollow clonking sound
He immediately dropped to the floor looking for the sound with a really puzzled/discovery face that only 4yr olds can have
He actually tapped her leg with his knuckles and looked up at me all satisfied and said 'ooh it was her leg, its sounds funny eh?'
For her sake I kept a straight face but it was the hardest thing Ive ever done.

Yes, on numerous occasions - if it's at a funeral, cover your face and pretend you're crying, anywhere else pretend you're coughing. Both are good excuses to leave the room for a glass of water and some air and therefore straighten yourself up. It works a treat, trust me - I get the giggles at the most inappropriate times, and I've yet to be rumbled.

All I have to say is Mullet!! I'm sorry but wearing a suit does not make a mullet look sophisticated. Add a handlebar mustache and I am down for the count. I can usually keep my cool but those kill me.

Kindof... my friend had invited myself and a friend to her church service. I am used to normal, old style church, with quiet hymns. But her church was all 'happy clappy' and stuff. When they congregation started waving thier hands in the air and crying, it was all we could do to control our laughter. We were laughing internally so hard the pew was shaking, but we didn't make a noise. Thank goodness we were sitting at the back. And I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that, it looked pretty darn funny.

Yes, a few times. It's handled through covering my mouth with my hand in a thinking pose and coughing. Though there are times you almost can't help it.

In assembly when a teacher went to sit on her chair and fell off, i had tears in my eyes trying not to laugh.
I once had to hand a prescription in at my local chemist, when unfortunately my bodily functions went out of control and i farted really loud while giving my prescription in to the assistant in front of me, i was embarrassed, but her facial expressions said it all, she was disgusted, i tried not to laugh my son was also with me at the time, we tried our hardest not to laugh in front of her.
when we got out of the shop we could not stop laughing because of her reaction.
