lol, where are all you people answering from? New Orleans?
In south Mississippi, the rebuilding has begun and become complete for some. Apartments are being rebuilt, casinos have been reopened, condos are being fixed. Lots of places that had damage have repaired and reopened. The debris is pretty much gone; however it's like a lot of empty NOTHING now. Where buildings once stood...nothing is there...empty lands! lol
However, a lot of places are waiting to rebuild on hwy 90 (the beach front road) due to new regulations and codes are far as how high above sea level they have to be. It takes a while for all of that, plus insurance, getting a contractor, etc. Yeah, we have really started rebuilding. Roads have been fixed and reopened. Street lights and stop lights are back up and running. Power was (obviously) turned back on...after the power lines and poles were put back up or replaced. The beaches are open in some areas. The buildings that were only frames have been torn down and rebuilding has begun. Also, homes have been rebuilt...some are done and some aren't. But I'll tell you it's a beautiful sight and some normalcy indeed!
These other people have been misinformed! lol
We couldn't have done any of the cleanup or rebuilding without the help of wonderful volunteerers from across the US! Thanks to all who have helped or are helping!

In my life there is alot happening, but not sure what is happening in the disaster sites.

its still a mess, they have demolished lots of stuff and they stopped the leaks in the levies, but much has not been rebuilt
