If he is overwhelmed because he just ended a serious relationship, I would want to be with others, especially if you are the prettiest girl he has ever seen.
It sounds like he still has feelings for the other person and may just use you for the time being.
Play hard to get, you will soon find out just how interested he may be.

He is probably still in love with the x gf but if he really thinks that your someone special yes he will come back, and you should not push him but show him friendship, show him tht besides being beautiful ahnd intelligent you also have a good geart and are really concerned with his feelings as a friend even if there is never a relationship, that will start him thinking, Hmmmmm maybe I had better wake up before this girl gets away, and when that happens he will soon forget this x gf and only have eyes for you. good luck

if he doesnt the hell with him obviouusly heh didnt mean exactly what he said but either way you need to give him some time to sort out his past relationshipbefore starting up with you so tha he is certain that you are the one he wants

don't get your hopes up on that one. he'll probably be tryin to get back with his ex or not be interested in any relationship 4 awhile. just stay friends like you have been and see what happens.
