Kenny Chesney, Tim Mcgraw and his lovely wife Faith Hill (their duets are breathtaking), Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Martina Mcbride, Trace Adkins, Allison Krauss & Union Station, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Gretchin Wilson, Shooter Jennings & Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr. & Sr., Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash.......I could go on for days.
I haven't heard of any you listed except for Dave Matthews, but if you like his stuff you'd probally like something by most of these I've listed.
Kenny, Tim, Keith, Toby, Trace and Brooks & Dunn all have some things that are a little too 'pop-ish' in their catalogues. They also have some serious substance. Faith, Martina and Allison have voices that are phenomenal to say the least. Gretchen and Shooter are following in the traditional and outlaw shoes nicely. Johnny, Merle, George (both of them), Hank (again, both of them), Waylon and Willie are just gems to be treasured.

The Best Country singer of all times is by far George Strait he has so many number one hits it's ridiculous.
But some of my other definate faves would be Gary Allan "total hottie", Tracy Lawrence, and Keith Whitley. It really depends on what kind of country your gettin into. But trust me you will find it to be a wonderful genre of music, you'll love it!!!!

Rascall Flatts is acceptable country you would probably like it because its very pop oriented, Tim McGraw is very good, Eric Church is really new but very good, Trent Tomlinson, and The Warren Brothers, Gary Allen, Steve Holy, Montgomery Gentry are also good.

I can't believe I didn't see one of the greatest voices on anybodys answer. That voice comes second to George Strait and his name is Trace Adkins!! If you have any doubts about that, just listen to "The Rest of Mine". That song can be found on the album "Big Time". Welcome to the rest of the music world. Country is a lot different than it used to be!!
