Having just come out of a marriage I believe yours is a good question.
There is a difference between a mate and a soul mate, the latter being someone who shares your soul and everything about you.
For me personally the keys to finding and keeping a good partner would be the following:
Someone you can be yourself with without judgement or criticism
Someone you can laugh with over the silliest things
Someone who you have NO secrets from
Someone who you can discuss anything with without fear of embarressment or ridicule
Someone who you can grow with
Someone who shares your plans and you share theirs without compromising each others dreams
Someone who makes you want to do everything for them
Someone who you hate to be apart from even for just one night
So if finding this person happens yes I would marry them in a heart beat.

Well, personality is the main thing I look for. Someone easy to get along with. Someone that's humorous & can make me laugh. Someone affectionate, considerate, honest, & last but not least faithful. Looks isn't everything, yet, I believe there should be at least some physical attraction there. Also, having lots in common is always a plus as well...
And yes, if I found this person, I'd marry them if we fell in love.

People always make an excuse about taking that extra step (to get married) and say they don't need a piece of paper to be with their special someone but I think they aren't willing to make a commitment to one person! Uh, sure I would get married if I found that special person, a kind, funny, intelligent women.

I don't think so because I just recently met a guy who has all the qualities I look for in a man. He seems too good to be true. He likes me a lot, he has even mentioned the possibilities of us getting married, but I think he's just infatuated. Now that he's in my life I know that I don't really want him because I am deeply in love with a guy that is nothing like the man of my dreams.

I was totally not looking to meet anyone when I met the man of my dreams...my soul-mate...It was like as if we had met before and reconized one an other. I think comfort level and honesty can create a very close loving relationship.

I find myself asking that same question. I woould want a man that was self reliane, respectful of others as well as of himself, sensitive, compassionate, trustworthy. I would marry a man that had these qualities, and chemistry is a must.

Someone to appreciate me & respect me & that will be FAITHFUL. I've decided to stop looking, because it's hopeless. Sorry, pessimistic when it comes to this topic due to the problems I've had recently!

Two legs, arms. A nice butt and great breasts. Proper sex organs and teeth are optional. And a pulse would be great. Everything else is just extra.
