He is irritating as he ll, but, gosh, I don't know how your son could think he's naughty. Maybe he just hates SB as much as my hubby does!

Are you kidding me?? He's a square sponge who seems to be developmentally disabled. My 1 year old thinks he's a hoot. So does the 9-year-old! Then again, you have to respect his choices, no matter how trivial they may seem to you. He's the parent now, not you. However, I agree with you - he needs to take a chill pill - there are so many things in this world he's going to have to protect her from. A slightly retarded animated sponge isn't much of a danger. lol

Okay I can see how your son can look at it that way, because he does have a bit of "adult humor" every once in a while, but it is so slight of an "adult humor" my niece never gets it, and never notices it. Like when I watch it with her (she is going to be 7) and I get one of them "adult humor jokes" and I giggle or something, she always either laughs as if she got the joke, but I can tell it was only cause I was laughing, or she is quiet and asks me why I laughed. I always make something stupid up. Or she thinks I am laughing at something else in the cartoon.
& see your granddaughter is just noticeing things kids notice, like how funny and yellow he is.....

Spongebob is not naughty, and kids wouldn't know it if he was. When I was a kid, (English TV) there was a cartoon series called Captain Pugwash. He was a pirate. It saddens me to say there were characters called Master Bates and Seaman Stains.
