When remodeling a bathroom. How long do you have to garentee your workmen ship?

Most contractors guarantee their work for two years. Good contractors will continue to service their work for three years. After that it becomes harder to determine whether it's normal wear and tear or a problem with the original workmanship.

If you are considering doing this for pay, I suggest seeing if there are any laws pertaining to that in your area and also see if a license is required. If not, I would say atleast a year. I had a bathroom remodeled several years ago. Eight months later my ceiling was leaking when I flushed the toilet. I called them, told them what the problem was. They said it may not be their fault. I said did they want me to hire a plumber to find out. No. They came out, replaced the wax ring that had been improperly installed and fixed my ceiling. No harm, no foul.

One year liability. Just remember that you will also be responsible for any resulting damage cause by the 'lack of craftsmanship', i.e.; water damage, fires. I would personally have a problem with having some yahoo off the street remodel my bathroom.
