The oldest living animal right now is a Galapagos Tortoise. She is said to have been collected by Charles Darwin and is 160-some years old. The animal to have lived the longest before her was also a tortoise and it lived to be about 180 some years old.

As for the oldest species, sharks and other species of fish are the longest lived. They were around before dinosaurs even evolved!

If u mean living: then its the Galapogas Turtle.
The oldest living animal up until a couple of months ago was a female Galapagos Turtle. Captain Cook had actually named her during one of his expeditions to explore Australia. She was about 218 or 219 years old n only recently died.
