It seems like premarital sex is over-talked about, overdone, and overtaking every aspect of life! I can't stand a lot of the t.v. shows, clubs, and events that are considered "normal" for people my age.

I'm 24, happily married, and am surprised at some of the things people my age are doing. Whatever happened to decency and family values? I think I'm living in the wrong generation. Anyone else?

Obviously your notions of reality are not reality. Lose your notions or lose reality. Most people lose reality because what causes them to lose reality is their notion of self. The real thing I advise you to drop off is your notion of self as it is the very thing that builds a notion of what reality should be.

Personally, I think marriage and family values are to often talked about and feel that people should address the changing hierarchy so as people can live constructive lives in the social modes they choose.

Now the difference between you and I is that I see that as just an opinion and not as how reality is supposed to be.

I think that if one makes love with the one you love before marriage it's OK. The problem is when people take sex as a game, then it's horrible, it becomes empty and it's like going to the bathroom or eating; an automatic thing, merely an instinct.
The issue is not pre-marital sex. The issue what does sex mean to people. Making love is wonderful when you do it from the heart.

I'm 20 and I think the world is just fine. Family values would include me having kids and being a stay at home mom and I want nothing to do with that mess.

Why does everything seem to be going wrong because you don't agree with it?

Have you ever thought that it's the other way around? That maybe you're wrong?

yeah you might be.
I just ignore it, but be aware,
NOT everyone is doing it.
60% of college students are virgins, that means
60% didnt get carried away.
A good statistic when you think of how "everyone is doing it".

I know how you feel. I'm 17 and I'm sort of embarressed about how other people my age behave. All loud and obnoxious and... stupid.
