Yes I believe in his case though his career was cut short tragically, that he should be enshrined into Cooperstown.

Last time he was eligible (in the 2005 Veterans Committee balloting), he got 2 votes of out 80 cast. When he was eligible for election by the Baseball Writers, he never got more than 16% of the vote.

If he's played for another 5 or 6 years, then his career numbers would likely have been strong enough to warrant induction; as it was, though, his untimely death deprived him of any such achievements.

Maybe with Roberto Clemente, John Denver and The Big Bopper.

If Gary Carter can be in, then I guess anyone can be in.

He was a clutch hitter and a playoff hitter, but I don't say he's a HOFer.

HE SHOULD BE. IF HE DIDN'T DIE IN THAT TERRIBLE PLANE CRASH HE WOULD HAVE HAD BETTER NUMBERS THAN BENCH & FISK. GARY CARTER IS IN THE HOF SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE THAT GREAT.
