For me it's about the jokes, the opinions, the arguing and the trivia... in a word: entertainment.
I find most of the Dear Abby type questions to be too tedious... or they offer too little information to base advice on.
And I roll my eyes at 90% of the medical questions because the only valid answer is 'talk to your doctor'. Even if you are just looking to self-diagnose before Monday's appointment there are about a million really well-done medical websites to help you.

I've been a member since May 2006 and just now starting posting answers. I only made one question so far, and that was actually my first time posting here...which was today. I really don't care about the points, I still don't know how it works anyways. I feel that I have replied to some questions with meaningful and helpful answers.

I have fun answering the questions and I hope that maybe someone will get a laugh from something Ive written or maybe I could actually help someone. And I really get some laughs from some of the answers I read. I usually get on here when I get off of work to de-stress.

a little bit of both. It feels good to help somebody out with a problem or concern they might have. But I also like to get some points out of it to. I also like to come onto here for the good laughs.

Depends what kind of mood I'm in. Today I feel like helping people, on other days I'll just do it for the points.

I ocasionally feel like helping people. I go on like 2-3 times a month... points don't really mean anything to me.

I like being a know-it-all. Really. The points are a good form of affirmation, but it really is the fact that I can share my knowledge to help someone else.

I enjoy helping people because I know what I been at and maybe I can help someone out of the almost same things.

When I first started doing this, it was really only for fun, but as i do it more and more, I'm beginning to get genuinely interested in helping people out. I enjoy it!
