your wage = y
coworkers age = 1.1y
y + 1.1y = 16
2.1y = 16
y = 16/2.1 = 7.62 => your coworker makes 8.38Your Wage goes to 12.00 this is 100* (12 - 7.62)/7.62 = 57%
You make 100*(12-8.38)/8.38 = 43% more than he does.

Using y to represent "your hourly wage,"
y+1.1(y)=$16
so
2.1y=$16
so
y=$16/2.1
y=$7.62

After taking Math 1010,
$12-$7.62 = $4.38 raise
$4.38/$7.62 = 57%

Co-workers Wage:
$16-$7.62 = $8.38
Percent more that I make:
$12-8.38 = $3.62
$3.62/$8.38=.43
so 43%

x+1.1x=16
x=16/2.1=160/21=7.62

2.12/(7.62)*100%=158%

3.134%
