With the second Schilacking of another NFL opponent and an impressive game for Phillip Rivers are the naysayers changing their opinion that the Chargers are not one of the NFL"S top 5 Teams?

I think so. LaDanian Tomilson is one of the best players at his running back position I have seen in a while. He can do it all. This guy's for real ... I would look for the Chargers deep into the playoffs, if not in the super bowl :)

The reason there is alot of naysayers is the fact that Chargers games are not usually nationally televised. The Chargers definitely are top 5. They have a top notch offense and defense, not too many teams like that around. They will get more recognition when they beat Baltimore in 2 weeks.

I think they can win their division, with the Raiders looking like a mess, and the Chiefs without Trent Green, they have only the Broncos as their real competition. They are solid on defense with a great front 7 and their offense can score points. LT is the best player in the NFL and Phillip Rivers looks like he can do fine. I don't know about top 5, but i think they could be by the end of the season.

I am a huge, longtime Chargers fan, but ...

... you gotta be realistic. We haven't played anyone yet. And, we know from previous seasons that a quick start doesn't mean anything.

HOWEVER:

(1) The Chargers' schedule favors them having an excellent year ;

(2) This team is deep. And general manager A.J. Smith has done a fantastic job in building this franchise.

(3) Yes -- the Chargers are for real. Hope they will be really great!

I think the Chargers are a great team and Rivers is doing awesome, but they haven't played a team that has tested their will and push them hard. The Titans looked sad offensively and defensively, and so did the Raiders, so within the next 3 weeks we'll see if they are who they really are.

I think the jury is still out on this question. They have played 2 of the worst teams in the A.F.C only. The key games are yet to be played. It should be between the Chargers and the Broncos for division supremacy this season it is going to be interesting to watch.

I think the Chargers are for real. It's obvious they have the players in all three phases to get to the big game in February IF:

Marty doesn't 'shut it down' in the big game.

No the Chargers are not for real. They've played the Raiders and Titans, wait until they play a real team.
