There is no relation other than geographical. The Aztecs came down from the north to conquer the existing tribes in central Mexico (they did NOT descend from the Olmecs). The Mayas developed in situ in Yucatan and Guatemala (they did NOT descend from the Olmecs either).

Aztecs lived in central and northern mexico, the mayans ruled south mexico and central america. Only relation I can think of is that both civilazations have dissapeared.
