sheesh how i hated them. my fingers just never could reach the keys no matter how hard i tried to stretch em and my feet couldn't get nowheres near the stupid pedals unless i was standing up.

Yea, but I wouldn't go as far to say suffer. Started lessons when I was 7. By 9 knew exactly what I was doing. Now it's 40 yrs. since then, and been playing by ear ever since. Probably the best thing my parent's did was getting me started on those piano lessons.

Good God, yes! My piano was in the basement. It snowed in the winter where I lived. I was forced to practice for half an hour every day when it was freezing cold. I had to wear gloves to play. I think that qualifies for cruel and unusual punishment! I had to stand up to reach the pedals too!

I haven't thought of this in years, but I got to laugh through piano lessons, my mother's. After listening to her mouth about how I never stuck to anything after she and dad bought whatever equipment was necessary, mother shelled out for a piano and started taking lessons. She lasted about a month and quit because it was too hard.

No, I always wanted to take piano lessons, but my family never had enough money. I played flute in band though!

Hmm, maybe it's just that you haven't been able to get enough experience to play them as much. If you really feel no desire to play, don't start.
