Some of my ideas for peace and tolerance are:

Live and Let Live, mind your own business, keep your opinions to yourself, treat others as you would want them to treat you, respect all life, keep an open mind.

Great question! :-)

Countries will live in peace and tolerance as soon as someone discovers a way to share the wealth. Social discord and war always follow the social disconnect when some have and others have not and want what the haves have. This is the basis of all wars except civil wars.

I found it interesting that all the answers thus far say the same thing - love/respect one another. It seems apparent that the majority of the people in the world know how to obtain peace. Peace is simple to obtain perhaps that is why it is not desirable. If God or World Order would have made peace a difficult equation to follow perhaps then we would have considered it worthwhile. One said each individual must look within themselves and that is so true. Society cannot have peace with each other until we come to peace with ourselves. Until we understand and come to terms with who we are we will be fighting an eternal battle. Contrary to what one who replied said Jesus did not say peace was impossible he only implied it was unlikely because of man kinds human nature to be greedy. If we could remove the element of greed from society then peace may be possible.

i come from a country that has seen many wars, and sometimes when it wasn't in a war period with other countries, a civil war broke out, for politics and beliefs. now, isn't that the stupidest thing ever ; civil war ; brother fighting brother; when was it, in the history of the world, the great ancient history, lots before america was found, that people weren't involved in wars, about land, wealth, political beliefs, even love ! from where i'm standing, you can find peace and tolerance only within yourself and let the others commit sin. they will apologise someday, believe me.i know i had the same question within me, as i was growing everybody told me i was romantic, and what surprised me through the years, was that people grow up, live and accept the fact that that's how it is! and you can't do anything about it. it's like that chinese say, swim as the flow otherwise you 'll be drown.search peace within and you 'll find happiness.all the others is plain politics(bliah....)

To find Peace you must first look within. How many in this Universe would be willing to do that I wonder......Until they can.... there will be no real peace.
Tolerance is something few have this day and age. It is learned by ones self...again I say how many in this Universe is willing to put aside.difference to make this possible. There are just too many who want to be Chief and not followers...so there will always be indifference. So with indifference there is less tolerance, with less tolerance there is little peace. It just continues to go around accomplishing nothing, over and over and over.

In the Bible we are told that there will be no peace until Jesus returns to Earth. What we should all be doing is striving toward peace. How? Simply by living by The Golden Rule, learning to respect others, and keeping our nose out of every other nations business.

Be peaceful...be tolerant...until the majority of the human race in this world can find it in them to do that - and set the example....we're all goners. (not looking good ...is it?)
