and how do you levitate? from where you sit or do you run, jump? how do you do it and what do you do when you are levitating? do you do any tricks?

would you love to do that in real life and not just in your dreams?

in almost all of mine i'm sitting and use my mind to lift myself. in the early dreams it was very hard work and i would be frustrated. lately it's come to be easy and i love to soar, fly, flip, just levitate gently in a sitting position with my legs crossed. (example, is this common?)

anyone have any explainations for this also, meaning, perception, interpretation of the dreams? what does levitation mean in a dream also?

I have had levitation dreams often for the past 35 or so years, since I was in my early teens. These are different than flying dreams, which I have also had, though most of the flying dreams came when I was younger.
Generally, but not always, I am aware that I am dreaming and sense that "this" would be a good time to do this very special thing. I am usually in an urban setting with at least several other people, if not an entire city street, to witness my incredible feat.
Over the years I have come to feel that perhaps some very wise being, a truly learned soul, is trying to let me in on a big secret, to allow me to do something that has fascinated and obsessed human beings for all time.
When I am struck by the feeling I go through a series of "excercises" or carefully choreographed movements which always begin from a standing or walking position. I dip slightly by bending my knees and then spring upward, like leaping for a rebound. Propelling my self upward my arms are at my sides. As I near the apex of my jump I begin to whip my arms in a weird manner, NOT AT ALL the way a human imitates the flapping wings of a bird. I say this because I do not use my shoulders to raise my arms like wings. My elbows remain at my sides and I use only my forearms and hands in this strange whirling whipping motion to maintain the height I am at and to rise up beyond that stage. Usually I will sink back to earth and repeat the whole process two or three times until I am finally able to soar well beyond my normal human leaping ability, stay at a height of between, say, twenty to one hundred feet or so. At this point I can choose to move laterally for a block or two or three.
The carefully executed arm motions are ALWAYS the same. This is what leads me to believe that someone or something "greater than myself" is trying to instruct me, to show me how to do the seemingly impossible.
I have tried on a number of occasions to do this in my waking life to no effect except to perhaps make myself look somewhat foolish. The dreams, unfortunately, are not as common as they once were (several times a year rather than many times a month) but I still have them.
Beyond the idea that some knowledgable being is trying to show me the way, I really don't know what these dreams may mean. The fact that there are usually witnesses makes me wonder if it may be some sort of narcissistic ego thing (Hey! Look at me!!) but I don't think so. Occassionally I may use it to escape danger in a dream, but most often I do just because it is fun.
For most of my life I have had quite a bit of control or choice in my dreams, like sexualizing an appealing person or eating a particular food or turning right or left as I see fit while in the dream state. Maybe some day I will fly up into the sky, as unlikely as this sounds.

Yes, I have had levitation dreams but when I have 'those' dreams I'm usually flying. Not exactly like Superman but soaring and going places, sometimes with friends. When I first started as a kid I jumped and kept on going up which frightened me, but instead of smashing I just bounced!

Now I'm flying a few times a year, it always feels wonderful and very freeing. Funny you should ask —— I had my last flight two or three nights ago!

My levitation is similar to the others. When in a building, and I want to get out, I can go out of a window and land safely on the sidewalk if I'm in a hurry and my dream doesn't want to wait for the elevator. Sometimes I am running, and my feet never touch the ground, or I will be jumping while doing something, and the jump is extended so I am jumping either farther or higher, sort of like partial gravity vs. the whole effect, or I am able to lift myself up off of my feet instead of walking. Cool feeling! My dreams also include items bringing themselves to me instead of me having to go get them, because the dream is thinking for the item to come to me.

I don't have levitation dreams, but I DO have flying dreams, although when I fly I'm always restricted to no more than a few yards up into the air.

My best "flying" is a kind of running where I barely skim
the dream earth. In these dreams, I feel like a god. Often the
landscape is a transformed one or I'm heading towards some-
thing symbolically magnificient like the top of a mountain.
In the other type, I think I am influenced by demonic beings
who have made me a prisioner in my dream. I try to have a good
time, but joy is really lacking. I realize the situation and make my-
self wake up. Sounds crazy, but that's the best I can do. There
is a profound qualitative difference between the two. In these lat-
ter dreams, I am made to see terrible things-things that have no
relation to me and I believe are NOT a creation of my uncon-
scious.

In some of my dreams i end up walking off a cliff and walking in mid air for a few seconds until i realise im in mid air then i start to fall. That's when i snap awake in a cold sweat. Usually right on the edge of the bed when that happens, so maybe it's my brain warning me and waking me up to do something about the fall from bed to floor before it happens. Very odd nonetheless.

I have had those before and it seemed as tho I were really awake but then I would fall down and "jump" awake (you know when you are so startled you jump). I have had dreams I could fly too and it is so cool.

You know there is a suit you can wear when sky diving that allows you to glide two miles out for every one mile you go down so you are not just quickly rushing to the ground. SO COOL!

I once had a dream that I just walked off this cliff and was standing there in mid-air not falling not moving at all. I was about to take a step when a noise woke me up.

I have falling dreams...falling from a cliff and then levitate before I hit the groung...so that I don't hit the ground...I don't want to do it in real life...the dream is enough.

I do and I love it It feels great, you can actually feel it. I'm always flying, when I feel I'm falling down I move my feet really fast and I go up again. But I don't dream that often...
