Well, chances are, we are just going to Blow ourselves up. All it takes is one dumbass leader of some nuclear ready country to put his finger down on the big red button and the world ends. One person presses it, the rest of the planets nuclear capable countries won't be able to help themselves. Now assuming there is no rapture, no massive Nuclear war/winter, and the sun doesn't go boom and wipe us all out, We will have to move to another planet within another 1000 years, as this one is way to small for the amount of people expanding on it, and we have very few resources left. However, unless we master some other way of travel, ( see book "Red Lightning") Finding another Human Life sustainable planet is going to be very difficult, much less possible to move the massive amount of people to the new planet.

If we can survive the natural and human threats to the planet, yes we will one day colonize the other planets. I'd like to see at least one human couple somewhere out there right now, because with a religious kook in the White house, another religious kook in the Vatican, another one in Iran, and millions of kooks around the world, in America and the Islamic countries particularly, I don't have much faith in the continued existence of the human species...Then there are the natural threats, global climate change and so on.

Yes but not likely because it would be very difficult to change the atmospheric conditions(heat/cold, chemical in the air lethal to humans, gravitational effect, etc.) and a planet very similar to earth is obviously, not in the neighborhood. What is very likely is to live in man-made structure in space because it means we're not changing anything, we start from scratch and therefore a lot easier. An example of this structure is the hard science fiction story RINGWORLD by Larry Niven. Other stories of this type are also from Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov.

If we keep destroying this planet we will have to find another planet to live on. I don't want to go anywhere, I love this Earth, but only time will tell.

as development of the spacestation unfolds we grow ever closer to the necesary knowledge to colonize othe planets , if my theorys are corect by 2300 there will be a productive colony undre the ocian surface as well we will have colonized the moon

how ever to colonize other planets is another game in and of its self to colonize venus or murcury is simply imposible as temprature are just to high for human inhabitance we would not be able to keep any bio enviroment cool enogh with curent tech and moast likly will not achive such tecnology in the future
mars on the othert hand is a few thousand years in the futer a posibility ,to heat an area is far more achiveable

We might live "on" another planet, but probably not "in" another planet. Why can't anyone spell around here?

Some people need to explore.

Others need space to get away from their fellow man.

Others will want to become rich in an empty place full of opportunity, others are born to build.

Some will want to escape us here on Earth, some will invite us to join them.

Someday people will live in space and mankind will grow from what we are to what we can become.
