A few years ago, I taught part-time at a community college, and I still stay in touch with some of my former students. Is this ok? My students were around the same age as me, but most of them were actually older than me.

Personally, I still stay in touch w/ some of my former professors, but it's more on an academic/professional level - like to ask for recommendations and talk about the field.

With the students I stay in touch with, it's more on a friendship level, and not academic at all. And one of them likes me romantically, even though I've told him time and again that I'm not interested.

I guess if it feels wrong, it probably is wrong. But I just wanted to see what responses I might get.

To answer someone's question, the students I stay in touch with are all a few years older than me.

As long as you're keeping things legit.

I do not see anything wrong with it . If you were romantically involved with a student I would say that was wrong but being involved with a former student is ok because that person is no longer your student.

There's nothing wrong about that...you just want to stay in touch with your past students...its not your fault if one of them likes you romantically....

Well in touch and touching are two different things. It is okay to be friends and in touch. I suggest you do not touch him. Also age in a think you did not specify. Are you two similar in age or not, cause if you are and he is no longer your student, I would say he is game.

As long as they are not your current students, then do what you want.
