Iran, as the number 2 biggest producer of oil would like to have a Nuclear Power Energy to power their country? Is it not too obvious ? Why do they need it for ? And then they threaten, that Israel should be eliminated from the face of the earth....hhhmmmmnnn?????

Does anyone really believes that? I think the main reasons behind it's drive for the technology are:
1. The Middle East has been under Western influence for decades. If you think the industrialized nations has a strong hand there, just wait another 25 more years when oil is really running low.
2. Israel is the West's trump card. Although no formal acknowledgment was made, it is widely known that Israel processes nuclear weapons. The French sold them technology way back. The US was not aware of it until the U-2 spy planes discovered the installations in 1958. In the late 1990's, CIA estimated that Israel has close to 130 nuclear weapons.

You are not aware of an impending energy crisis, are you?. In a number of years, the fossil fuels will simply be used up, All countries today should be searching for alternative power sources and if they have the ability to employ nuclear energy to produce electricity now, then they should. It is very short-sighted to think that other countries don't have the right to look forward to their own future. I agree that there exists the possibility of converting the radioactive sources to other purposes but it is the nature of the beast that we can not segregate the elements into peaceful purposes and harmful ones. We have to look towards the future and find means to replace fossil fuels.

Kind of stupid, huh? Nuclear Energy my a*s. They want to have the ability to actually wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. I say we nuke them before they have the chance. The Iranian Pres. dude is just plain nuts!

because thats their inherent right like americans and europeans have......and when u talk of bombing people kindly see track records before u speak......who is the only country in the world which has used a nuclear bomb so far.....it is usa who bombed civilians in japan and now israel which bombed innocents in lebanon with cluster phosphoric bombs and that is why they do not want that any of their adversaries should have the right of self defence or the right of have a deterrent.

They need enriched uranium to build a bomb. The only way to get is to make it unless you can buy it from another nuclear player. You will never guess were much of the worlds Uranium is actually exported from?
