I once said "how are ya" to a guy and he responded with a smile and "I don't know.....how am I"
I was instantly intrigued. He didn't get lucky that night but we did date for a while. I had never heard that one before, so I had to stop and converse.

I don't think pick up lines work. If a guy uses a line on me, I assume he just wants a good time. I usually ignore it...
I respond best to naturally meeting people. For example, I work at a candle store. One guy came in looking for a candle for his mom, and we got to talking and he stayed in the store for 45 minutes. I felt like I knew him a little by the time he left, and I wanted to talk to him more. He ended up giving me his number, and we went on a few dates. It didn't seem forced.
Also, you could talk about something they can relate to. If you are waiting in line at the airport, and someone in front of you gets pulled into customs, you could turn to the person and say "glad that's not me" or something. Then, you can add onto that and keep talking...
Another good way is to ask a question. For example, something like "is this seat taken?" is fine, or "do you know what time this place closes?" Then, add on to that...
I also think a great way to talk to someone is just going up and saying something like "Hi, my name is ____. I saw you sitting here and I wanted to come and talk to you." If that is too corny, a simple "Hi, I'm ___ " works.
Make it natural. Pickup lines seem careless, rehearsed, and heartless. You will seem more mature, and sophisticated, if you act naturally when introducing yourself to someone. You'll probably get a better response.

The best pick up lines for me are actually the worst pick up lines I've ever heard. I got things like, "What's your sign" to "Where's you bf at". It's weird but I think it's kinda sweet. It shows that he's brave enough to ask.

Pick up lines don;t work with me. Just come over and smile at me and say hi. I really like it if a guy compliments me on something too.

I have to be honest when I say pick up lines are cheesy and a complete turn off.I like a guy who feels like he can just be himself.

He was a customer at the restaurant I was working in. He was always smiling and always had something sweet to say. I was in a crappy marriage but not looking to cheat or anything. I was outside, talking to his kids one day and he came up to the other side of the vehicle and looked at me and said to his eldest son"Thats the woman Im gonna marry. She just doesnt know it yet." We celebrate our year anniversary next week. Love ya, Jeff!!!!!!!!!

Best pick up lines?
ANYTHING but "I'll give you 50 bucks if you'll come home with me." Seriously, a guy tried that one on me once.

I gotta tell you that I've heard plenty and none have ever worked on me. Even if you were the best thing I'd ever seen, they just kill it for me.
