Do i really need to use avr when charging my laptop when off and power on AC mode? Provided i have an adaptor 100-240v input. Sometimes it sparks when i plug it in the outlet.

It SHOULD not spark. Sparks was caused by some lose on cord/cable on your adaptor. Just push (or secure) a little bit to fit. If it still sparkling, maybe you consider to buy a new adaptor/cord. I have notebook and it sparks when cord was not securely fit on the adaptor...

BTW, you don't have to put your adaptor immediately to your notebook/laptop before plugging to the outlet.

If you're at home, yes, you may use AVR but not to bring when you're going outside!

You shouldnt need to.

As far as the sparks go, is it a large visible spark? Or is it one of those little pops with a little blue light coming from the outlet that happens when you unplug something while its still drawing current (like when you unplug an adapter that is still charging something)? If its the little pop, thats normal. If its large visible sparks, thats not good, something is wrong with your outlets, adapter, or both.
