That depends on the hospital. A lot of psychiatric facilities are only one or two levels. Most psychiatric patients are voluntary patients who checked in to get help, and can check out if they want to. Some units are locked units so altitude is really not a big issue.

You know thats interesting because I volunteered at a hospital like..oh 8 years ago and our psych ward was in the basement. Odd. But...yeah...you are probably right. I worry now that my hometown will be crawling with carzy mental patients with axes. Ah well.

more acute patient care is on the ground floor, emergency room, ect. psych wards are usually long term care and are placed in convienent, out of the way locations

yes, i found out that they're kept high so they cant find the door which is painted the same colour as the walls.

I don't know but I went to a psychiatrist and he keep telling me i was getting better , then he KILLED himself , ever since I've wondered if he was lying
