be reminded that there's a 50% additional charge for cab fare between 11.30pm to 6am. you don't have to tip the cab driver in singapore.
taking the MRT (mass rapid transit/ train) is quite convenient to many places. 6am- 11.30pm.

1)Esplanade
2)Suntec City
3)one fullerton (where the merlion is)
4)east coast park- for cycling, walk & seafood (see below)
5)night safari & zoo
6)bird park
7)sentosa
8)orchard road

(recommended, as it's the original shop where it all began. and you can see the real singapore as it is. also a red light district, but there's nothing to worry about.)
No. 414 geylang
singapore 389392
Tel: 68423415
12pm - 1am

Newton Circle- for local food (BUT don't order seafood, as it's expensive & not-so-nice.) for seafood, you can try the above- mentioned.
it's better to dine @ hawker centres in singapore. one rule of thumb: (during lunch & diner hours) when you see a long queue @ a food stall, you should try the dish...

You would need as most people said earlier - your passport and airticket AND you cash or credit cards :)

Everything is avaliable in singapore and the prices are rather cheap. So enjoy yourself.

Oh ... its usually hot but in Oct there may be some days when it would rain so do bring light clothing but maybe something to keep warm just in case

Yeah, a passport and a ticket will be good.

Singapore is always warm so bring light clothes. Tshirts, shorts, and sandles.

It is a great, modern country so you can buy things there.

You don't need to bring a lot of things cos you can find them here. The things here are not expensive. You can find them easily and anywhere. You can just bring your passport.
