Is this a dieing art... to say "Thank You" when you are thankful?

Absolutely not. I send and receive cards, thank you or otherwise, to/from my pals all the time. Its better than just receiving letters form the bank and means a hell of a lot more then a text message or email. If I've not seen a pal in a while I also like to send a wee postcard or something and vice versa. It actually costs less than having a mobile phone and you are the happier for it.

Hmmm... *ponders a moment* the last one... was addressed to my brother, bless. Why? He's probably done more for my family more than anyone I believe possible=)
He's been such a rock, an angel, a caregiver/ provider, basically I'm grateful and thankful for him to be in my life ~~> and I mean that genuinely, lol.
Is it a dying art? Depends.
I think one should really take the time to truly put it down on the card what the person means to you whether it's an act or a gift. Instead of just for courtesy sake and think of it as a chore sort of thing.
The best is to let the recipient know that they mattered to you.

Sadly, sending out "Thank You" cards is a dying art. I think the reason is because we have so many different means of communication these days, we just take the easy way out. I, too am guilty of just picking up the phone or sending a quick e-mail when I should know better.

Today, for the enormous kindness two strangers showed me in driving me quite a long distance after a minor car incident (no one hurt).

I don't know their address, and I sent the note via email. I hope they will give me a mailing address for them, so that I can surprise them with a small gift, in addition.

I sent one to the guy who helped us set up for our art exhibition a couple of weeks ago
I send a lot and I think it's vitally important to let someone know if you appreciate them

My wedding, 5 years ago, people just don't seem to be as kind hearted as they used to be. I send Thank You cards for everything but I just haven't had a reason lately.

Last one I sent was I guess after Christmas. I can't remember sending any for anything this year so far.

a few years ago...u mean a REAL tangible card rite?

dying art because of the internet!!! it's so much easier, faster n cheaper to send ecards..
besides..i dun have my friends' addresses anymore...

if u include ecards, it should be a month ago....

i think people r not as grateful as before n taking more things for granted......maybe that's why...
