Open gteh Contol panet anmd look at your internet connections. It will show a wireless device if one is there.

If your router is using encryption (an excellent idea) your laptop has tio use the same WEP or WPA code.

If your Windows laptop is wireless capable, then it should have something in the the little taskbar in the bottom right hand corner of your screen concerning wireless. Try clicking on it and you should be able to find some information that way.

If you have a Mac laptop, then it is wireless capable, and all you need to do is click on the Airport menu in the title bar and select the wireless network you want to use (if it doesn't automatically select it for you, which is highly unlikely).

To find out if your laptop has a Wireless Card, right click on My Computer, go to properties and then the hardware tab. then click on device manager. The Wireless card would be under the Network Adaptors +. It will say something like 801.11 a/b/g wireless card.

I believe that most of the newer ones have one. Mine is two years old and it does. And you shouldn't need any other equipment, other than what comes in the box with your router.
