In a few of the old Mystery Science Theater references, they would use the line, "Wait for it..." when there was a suspenseful scene, or something big about to happen.

Where does this "wait for it" reference come from?

That is what photographers say to posing models during a shoot. "Hold it" "Steady" "Wait for it", They must hold the pose until they hear the click of the shutter, that 's why they say "Wait for it."

Yup I accept as true with Renee. We had a holiday like this in an amusement park close to our city referred to as the Himalaya and that they might constantly say that. I on no account thought-approximately finding for MST on youtube. thank you for the belief ;)

Possibly "Rocky Horror Picture Show" when Tim Curry says "antici.......pation" and the audience yells something like "Wait for it!"

That quote has been lampooned on everything from the Simpsons to Malcolm in the Middle.

It's one of those catch phrases that just happened to (no pun intended) catch on.

They are making fun of the fact that it is so obvious that something is going to happen that right before it happens they say 'wait for it' then it happens

it really didn't come from anywhere...what they were doing was "wait for it...wait for it...wait for it"...and the damn scene was always a letdown...HAIKEEBAH!
