i am a first time mom of a 5 1/2 month old baby girl. she started sleeping through the night at about 2 months old but for the last month she has been waking up crying (not a screaming cry) just a wining cry and she will go back to sleep when i give her pacfier. is that normal? and she has been sleeping a lot more in the day time but this is only been happening for the last couple of days. could it be a growth sprut that is making her sleep more or could something be wrong with her?

Sounds pretty normal. My daughter only just started sleeping through and shes 7 months! In fact i have probably jinked that now as its only happened the last 2 nights! She could be getting teeth and as you say having a growth spurt or just checking that you are still there! As far as wellness goes, is she displaying any symptoms that she may not feel well? Off her food? Pulling at her ears? runny nose? If not, i guess its just one of those things, i'm sure she will settled down in time.

She is perfectly fine. Babies do have a growth spurt at around 6 months. She may also be hungry. Is she waking up earlier than usual? That may be a sign that she's hungry. Just think though, soon she will be peacefully sleeping through the night because she'll be wearing herself out crawling. Good Luck!

She is growing and probably hungry. I wouldnt worry about something being wrong. My son woke up everynight until he was off the bottle. He didnt eat a whole lot during the day because he always wanted his bottle and im sure that was the problem with waking up he was hungry.

she could just be hungry or wet. or not like being alone in the dark where it quite. try putting on some music or t.v. for a night light and try to keep her awake more during the day. put a shirt or something with ur scent on it in her crib that worked with my sisters baby. hope that works and good luck

It's probably just a phase she's going through. My daughter does that when she's teething. Try keeping her paifier in the crib with her. She might not be od enough right now, butmy daughter just puts it in her mouth her self if she wakes up.

very normal. You are lucky that she sleeps as well as she does. growing usually makes them sleep and eat more, so she could be waking up from hunger, but then be too tired to fully wake up.

babies do that, she may be having dreams and needed a little reassurance. as for sleeping more ill bet your right, probably a growth prurt or her body just needs a little more rest. no worries.
