The iBook G4 has a built-in microphone. Open QuickTime player, in preferences choose the RECORDING pane and be sure "Built-in Audio: Internal Microphnone" is selected for audio.

This might require QuickTime Pro. I'm not sure, as I have Pro ($30) and don't remember if this is required or not.

Then from File menu, use "New Audio Recording", press the red button, the rest is obvious.

You might want to mute your audio output first, to stop the feedback. I should have mentioned that sooner.

If you want something better than the built-in microphone, you need some sort of USB microphone or audio interface. Sampson makes a nice one.

If you have any version of iLife, then it should include GarageBand which would be the pinacle for voice recording and altering. It is also good for podcasting. Just check apple.ca and see what they recommend for it, but I would definetly say buy Garage Band if you do not already have it.

P.S. You will need a microphone lol.
