Skid row is actually the the cell block for the people waiting on their death sentence.

The "Skid row" term came about from the "scuff marks" left by the shoes of the people being drug to the electric chair.

Wino's live in flop houses located on skid row. Or,at least did when I was a kid. The skid row's in the towns in my area have all been somewhat cleaned up. I sometimes wonder what happened to all the wino's.When I was a teenager I used to go there to play pool.
