Now I,m not having a shot at christians. A questian in this segment asked "Are you a goddess?".A Christian lady replied that there were no goddesses, only God. Fair enough if the question only required a strictly Christianan aswer, but fo those who fantasise or like a little escapism., I can see nothing wrong with this.
I would see myself as Tuliwanensis in Douglas Adams' "Long dark teatime of the soul".
Best wishes, Rose P.

Would there be any Christians in the Yahoo Mythology & Folklore section if your statement were true, Rose?
I consider myself Christian and well-read. Most Christians I know do not adhere to that simplistic "if its not in the Bible I'm not gonna believe it" rhetoric.

I am a Christian and am one who considers myself to be very openminded to other people's belief's . I have read everything from Commentaries on Scripture to Whitley Strieber's novels on alien abduction. I am secure in my beliefs as a Christian enough to be open to the wonders of the universe and how all of it plays a part in God's creation. Remember the line from William Shakesphere's play Hamlet.."There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your phylosophy."(not sure of the spelling.) Some fundamentalists get carried away and try to force their beliefs on others. This is not the way that Jesus preached salvation. One must come to the truth in his own way and form his own relationship with the saviour. Going to church every Sunday does not make you a Christian. Remember from the Gnostic Gospels.. (the gospels not included in the version of the Bible we have today) The words of Jesus are..."The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, nor in mansions of wood or stone...Split a log you will find me, lift a stone and I am there.

Actually Yes many of us read just the Bible or commentaries on it. I am sorry if someone said there were no Goddesses. I am an ex Pagan and understand your point. We will say that people ridicule us Christians out of ignorance and turn right around and do it to you. I have to keep myself in check also. I am sorry and I am sure my Sister in Christ meant no harm to you. Only to honor our Lord.
Blessed Be and GOD bless ya too!

I'm a christian, I'm not really religious, but I do believe in god, and that he created everything and that evolution is abunch of bull. But I do read more than just the bible, in fact, I love books like lord of the rings, and the harry potter series, stuff like that that has to do with magic, and whatnot. I mostly read fantasy/adventure type books.

Christians read more than the bible. My parents are Christians...my dad recently read a biography of Led Zepplin and my mom likes Anne Rice and Stephen King.

it sure seems like it sometimes..i tried to be friends with some christians recently .it didn't work out. i just wanted to hang out and do things, not prayer meetings and church . its hard for them to tolerate being around someone that won't become their religion and it's hard for me to tolerate being around people that say their religion is the only way.christianity is a bit too masculine for me.well,i'm sure they read other things but the ones that "suck on you like a vampire" don't act like they think about anything else.
