I used hot soapy water. I use a sponge that has a soft side and a semi-rough side. First I put the soapy water on the whole stove top and let is soak for a while. After that I use the semi-rough (it's not abrasive) side and with circle motions I clean the whole stove top. I use a clean wet cloth to rinse the stove top.
Also, you need to condition the ceramic glass with a cream cleanser that you can buy from places like Home Depot, Canadian Tire, or a place where they sell the stoves.

Don't use a scour pad. Use a soft sponge or rag. Once you got the dirt off. Take an unused coffee filter, a little windex and shine your glass stove top.

I just edited this, because I put the word g-o-o-k where dirt is now, and was surprised to see it in ****! I would never do that!

Lowe's (or Home Depot) sell a product made specifically for cleaning glass top stoves. Not very expensive and lasts awhile.

Use a simple mixture of one part vinegar to one part water. It's not toxic and will cut the grease.

I have also used just plain Windex or 409

first get any hard cooked on food off with a rag and cleanser.
second spray the top with glass cleaner and dry completely with wadded up newspaper.
it leaves glass streakless and without lint.
i use newspaper for my windows, mirrors, television and car windows and mirrors. you just keep wiping back and forth until it's dry and you see no streaks.
good luck.

Wipe it down with any household cleaner such as 409 or Fantastik.

Windex works well with getting all the grease and won't leave streaks.
