I do not agree with the theory that television numbs the mind, however, if you spend way too much time watching it, it does have a potential to dull your senses. Everything in moderation!

Hmm I don't think so but perhaps watching too much tires your eyes and maybe that's where that groggy feeling comes from after too much tv.
