Depends.
Mostly it's due to fear & dissappointment, like what if I got turned away or if they felt I wasn't worthy of it to begin with?
Either way, one should take it with a grain of salt.
That there're some things that are beyond your reach but on the other hand, if you really, truly believe that it's meant for you and you alone, then rise up & work toward it!

Nope, never have, never will be afraid to ask. If yah don't ask, yah don't get. So even if I have to screw up some major courage or make myself look like a fool I will ask.
